
About ICTBH
The International Conference on Translational Biophotonics in Healthcare (ICTBH), organized by the Manipal School of Life Sciences, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), in collaboration with the Manipal OPTICA Student Chapter, is dedicated to fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange in the field of Biophotonics in Precision Medicine, Clinical Biophotonics, AI & Data-Driven Biophotonics, Optics, Medical Device, wearable & Point-of-Care Devices, Bioimaging, Nanotechnology, Microscopy, Spectroscopy, Lasers and its applications and Quantum Frontiers in Biophotonics. This scientific event aims to provide a platform for researchers, academicians, and students to discuss and explore the recent breakthroughs and emerging trends in the rapidly advancing field of biophotonics in healthcare.
The conference highlights the transformative potential of Biophotonics as an interdisciplinary domain of science. Through insightful talks and collaborative discussions, ICTBH seeks to inspire innovation and partnerships and promote translational research bridging the gap between experimental breakthroughs and real-world biomedical applications.

About Manipal OPTICA Student Chapter
Manipal OPTICA Student Chapter (formerly Manipal OSA Student Chapter), is a ten year old chapter of OPTICA (formerly known as OSA) located in Manipal, Karnataka, India. The chapter was established under the guidance of Dr. K. K. Mahato, Professor, Department of Biophysics and Dr. Nirmal Mazumder, Assistant Professor, Department of Biophysics from MSLS, MAHE. The chapter was inaugurated in October 2016 and currently has over 90 members, actively involved in promoting science to the young minds at school, undergraduate and postgraduate levels with various popular activities, outreach visits, holding contests, popularizing science, organizing membership drives and attending student leadership programs.

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) Manipal, is one of India's leading academic and research institutions. It has been granted Institution of Eminence status by the Ministry of Education, Government of India and is a self-financing higher educational institution that started its operations in 1953 by establishing the first self-financing medical college as Public Private collaboration model. The MAHE has off-campuses in Mangaluru, Bengaluru, and Jamshedpur and an offshore campus in Dubai (UAE). Every institute has world-class facilities and pedagogy, which are constantly reviewed and upgraded to reflect the latest trends and developments in higher education. Travel & Accommodation
The closest railway stations are:
• Udupi Railway Station (≈6 km from Manipal) — on the Konkan Railway route.
• Mangalore Junction/Mangalore Central (≈65 km away)
From the station, you can take a taxi or local transport to reach Manipal.
The nearest bus stops include the Manipal Tiger Circle (TC) and Udupi KSRTC Bus Stand. Buses connect Manipal/Udupi with major cities and towns in Karnataka (Bangalore, Mysore, etc.).
Once in Manipal, local transportation is mainly provided by auto-rickshaws, for which multiple auto stands are available across the town. Walking is feasible within the campus area.
The nearest airport is the Mangalore International Airport (IXE), situated approximately 65km away, i.e., about 90 minutes of travel by road, from Manipal. On arrival, you can take a prepaid taxi/cab from the airport to Manipal.
There are many options at Manipal for accomodation. Limited number of rooms on campus will be made available.
